Dr. Ashley Schroeder
Dr. Schroeder graduated with high honors from Michigan State University in 2013 with a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine and Master of Public Health. After graduation, she worked in global health field research in Tanzania and enjoyed leading and mentoring veterinary students abroad.
In 2015, she returned home with her husband to embark on a new adventure- raising a family in beautiful Northern Michigan. Dr. Schroeder began working at Suttons Bay Animal Hospital in 2016. She enjoys the diversity of companion animal medicine and loves building relationships with people and their furry family members. She feels it is truly an honor to witness the human-animal bond and is dedicated to strengthening that bond by helping pets live to their healthiest potential. Dr. Schroeder has a particular interest in surgery and emergency/critical care medicine and frequently attends continuing education to maintain excellent standards of medical care. Dr. Schroeder began serving as Medical Director for Suttons Bay Animal Hospital in 2021. She is passionate about supporting the well-being and professional development of doctors and staff while maintaining Suttons Bay Animal Hospital’s exceptional level of medical and surgical care.
Dr. Schroeder and her husband, Justin, have a full and happy house with 3 little boys (4 and 1-year-old twins), 2 dogs, 6 chickens, and a cat that rules them all. When she has spare time (a rare event!), she can be found hiking, backpacking, birdwatching, or perhaps in a hammock with a good book.
